Some of the offspring have been eaten by a pack of wild, rabid dogs that inhabit the nearby forest, but most of the goats seem to be doing great.

On Saturday, Matandala received 40 female goats. Over time, 80 families will share the offspring. Jean Msowoya, a young girl, held a sign that read, "Thank you ... I have my own goat now." Goats are assets that families can use to rent more land for cultivation during the rainy season or send children to school. Field officer Wedson Kondowe was in attendance.
