Chantulo opened its market shelter! Now vendors can sell their goods under cover, protected from sun and rain exposure. The grateful village expects this project to promote local commerce and economic growth. Members of the Yao tribe (the dominant tribe in the area) performed traditional dances. Floor was installed today. Remaining painting will be done tomorrow, which will mark the end of the project. The market should open this coming weekend!

Field Officer Macford held an on-site meeting yesterday with the project committee and contractor. The remaining work -- painting and construction of the cement benches and floor -- should be done by Friday.
